Port-au-Blé Quay &
Carmelites 

Along these quays, barges were loaded, until the 1930s, with slates from the farms 

brought down on carts. It was a place of intense commercial activity. The most 

prosperous inhabitants were the sailors and the merchants, they lived in the beautiful 

residences on the banks of the Meuse. The quays were also the place of activity of the 

brewers.
