Port-au-Blé Quay &
Carmelites

Along these quays, barges were loaded, until the 1930s, with slates from the farms

brought down on carts. It was a place of intense commercial activity. The most

prosperous inhabitants were the sailors and the merchants, they lived in the beautiful

residences on the banks of the Meuse. The quays were also the place of activity of the

brewers.
